Toning & Ohm Circles

Toning

Creating the same tone with a group of people is a positive way to feel more connected and to cultivate energy. The vibrations are felt all around! A feeling of unity is cultivated when people attune to the same resonant frequency.

Sound a tone with intention!

Example 1: “Aum” for community
Example 2: “Ahh” for clean air

If we get into a rhythm of beautiful tones, we will attract a beautiful symphony in our every day life and spread beauty to all we interact with.

Program your breath with tone!

Many traditions have different ways of toning with intention. Mata Amritananda Mayi “The Hugging Saint”, recommends this– inhale while thinking the tone “Maa” then exhale “Ommm”.  Yogananda recommended to inhale “Hung” and exhale “Sau”. Kundalini Yoga says to inhale “Sat” and exhale “Nam”.  Jewish people might choose to inhale “Sha” and exhale “Lom”.  You can choose any tones that you find beautiful or sacred.

Om Circle
Om is thought by many Eastern cultures to be the sound of creation. Hold hands in a circle with a group of people and, with intention, tone the sound “Om” together to synchronize with those universal tones. Infuse your group’s focus with the intention that you choose. Great to begin or end an event or bless food.

Yum Circle
A fun alternative food blessing to the more common Ohm Circle! Hold hands in a circle with a group of people and with intention, tone the sound “Yum” together. Makes food much more yummy!

Offer this collaborative energy to all of creation. Anchor the tone in your location and selves.
